Light Explorations

Muahaha!! I can manipulate light! Physics!

My love for glassblowing began the moment I learned you could make glass. I’m not sure why, but I was under the impression until late high school that only big factories could make glass. Once I learned I could blow glass I was hooked. I began taking classes at Urban Glass, Brooklyn Glass, and Diablo Glass Studio. Throughout my four years of glassblowing I have become increasingly fond of uranium (because it glows in the dark and is UV reactive), neon (because you shock a noble gas with electricity and it glows?!), and cold working because it is so satisfying to see your piece all polished and beautiful. Since beginning to my glassblowing career, I’ve been obsessed with the power of light bending, the history of glassblowing, and the heat of the glory hole.

Humble Beginnings

I began blowing glass when I moved to New York City in September of 2021 at Urban Glass. Here are some of my first pieces.

Glass Survey

After becoming absolutely obsessed I took the Glass Survey course offered at NYU Steinhart. Here are some of the pieces I made in this course.

Projects in Glass

I then took my skills to the next level and registered for the course Projects in Glass which is a graduate course for studio art majors. Here are some of the pieces I made in this course.
